The management of SONABEL, the power-producing company in Burkina Faso, has changed the controlled water spillage from the Bagre Dam from Monday, August 25 to (Wednesday, August 27).
The change in schedule was due to the sudden rise in the Bagre Dam to a filling capacity of 90.24 per cent.
It also has a water level of 234.27 meters as of August 23, 2025.
A statement from the Water Resources Commission, copied to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Saturday, advised communities along the White Volta and adjoining areas to take the necessary precautions.
It said they should adhere to the guidelines from the local assemblies and the appropriate agencies to ensure their safety.
