An accident occurred in which a T’way Air passenger plane lost a wheel while landing in Taiwan. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

According to the aviation industry on the 9th, T’way Air flight TW687 (B737-800), which departed from Jeju, experienced an accident in which the tire of the right landing gear detached while landing at Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan around 3:50 p.m. local time the previous day. It was reported that the wheel detached while the aircraft was landing on the runway and decelerating. There were 185 passengers on board the aircraft.
Fortunately, the passenger plane stopped safely on the runway, and all passengers and crew were confirmed to be unharmed. The airline and relevant authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the accident.
The airport authorities temporarily closed the runway to address the accident and inspected the runway surface for any abnormalities. As a result, a total of 14 flights were delayed in departure and arrival. The closed runway resumed operations around 5:35 p.m., approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes later.
