Kenya Airways has cancelled its scheduled flights to and from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.
The Kenyan airline explained that the cancellation is due to a severe blizzard warning and heavy snowfall affecting operations in the United States.
Which flights to New York were cancelled?
In a statement issued on Sunday, February 22, 2026, the national carrier announced that flight KQ 002 from Nairobi to New York, scheduled for February 22, 2026, and flight KQ 003 from New York to Nairobi, scheduled for February 23, 2026, have both been cancelled.
The cancellations follow the suspension of all flight operations at JFK Airport by airport authorities for specific periods due to adverse weather conditions, including heavy snowfall affecting several parts of the United States.
“Further to the above, and for the safety of our customers and crew the following flights have been cancelled,” the airline stated.
When will the flights resume?
Kenya Airways has advised affected passengers that it plans to operate KQ 002 on February 24, 2026, and KQ 003 on February 25, 2026, as scheduled, once the weather improves and conditions are safe for operations.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and understanding. The safety and comfort of our customers and crew remains our highest priority,” the airline said..
